They came in their thousands from all over the country to the
doors of the conference hall in Bournemouth on the first day of
Labour’s conference in Bournemouth on 23 September.
Unite’s march with a message for Labour was one of the brightest
and most lively demos in years. And the message – that the
government must listen to its core constituency when it comes to
health services, offshoring, privatisation and housing – was clear
enough.
